The River as Working Space
The Ganges is both a defining landscape and a practical route through the riverfront environment. Small wooden boats repeatedly enter the photographic record as working objects, viewpoints and moving elements within the city.
Here, the expanse of reflected light is as important as the boat itself. The second boat at the frame edge helps retain the larger river context.
